Accessibility Guide

Providing a welcoming environment, for all our visitors, is an important principle behind the DRWM experience. We are fully committed to making your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible.

  • There are 7 designated disabled parking spaces at the National Library of Wales. Four are located in the car park at the side of the building adjacent to the road crossing and three are located at the side of the building opposite the exit from the new car park.
  • A ramp access and automatic doors allow for easy access into the building.
  • Low level counter and loop system in the box office.
  • Wide wheel chair access door into the auditorium.
  • Assistance dogs are welcomed and can be cared for during performances by arrangement by calling 01970 632 548.
  • There are four removable chairs in the DRWM auditorium, which can be removed on request to provide wheelchair spaces.
  • There are two disabled toilet facilities on the DRWM auditorium floor level.
  • An infra-red transmission system is available in the DRWM and the best quality of sound is through a headset (these can be provided when entering the DRWM). Alternatively hearing aids can be switched to the T position.
  • Temporary wheelchairs are available by the disabled entranced for use during your visit at the National Library.
